Description
The BSI 8599-2 Motoring First Aid Kits are specifically designed with carefully selected contents to address motor and road-related injuries.
In 2014, the British Standards Institution (BSI) introduced the UK’s first standard for motor vehicle first aid kits, known as BS8599-2.
It’s essential to have a first aid kit in your vehicle to provide immediate assistance in the event of a road accident or minor incidents such as cuts, abrasions, and burns.
BSI 8599-2 Motoring First Aid Kits are available in three sizes, based on the type of vehicle and the number of passengers:
- Small Kit: Suitable for 1–3 passengers (e.g., mopeds, motorcycles, tricycles) – see content chart for details.
- Medium Kit: Suitable for 1–8 passengers (e.g., cars, taxis, commercial vehicles).
- Large Kit: Suitable for 1–16 passengers (e.g., minibuses, small buses).
For example, a vehicle carrying 17 passengers will require two Large Kits. Multi-level vehicles or those with higher capacity may require additional kits.
