Description
The BSI 8599-2 Motoring First Aid Kits are specifically designed with contents tailored for motor and road-related injuries.
In 2014, the British Standards Institution (BSI) introduced the UK’s first standard for motor vehicle first aid kits, known as BS8599-2.
Having a first aid kit in your vehicle is crucial for responding to road accidents and minor injuries such as cuts, abrasions, and burns.
BSI 8599-2 Motoring First Aid Kits are offered in three sizes, determined by the type of vehicle and the number of passengers:
- Small Kit: For 1–3 passengers (e.g., mopeds, motorcycles, tricycles) – see content chart for details
- Medium Kit: For 1–8 passengers (e.g., cars, taxis, commercial vehicles)
- Large Kit: For 1–16 passengers (e.g., minibuses, small buses)
For vehicles carrying more than 16 passengers, such as those with 17 seats, two Large Kits are required. Multi-level vehicles may need additional kits.
You can choose a kit supplied in a box with a clip-in wall bracket, or a convenient grab bag for easy storage within the vehicle.
