Description
The RedVac Vacuum Splints are designed to stabilize and immobilize patients with suspected fractures or injuries to limbs. These splints are intended for preclinical care and the initial phase of clinical support, and are not suitable for permanent immobilization like plaster casts. Before applying the splints, open wounds should be cleaned, dressed, and covered with a sterile dressing, following current standards of aseptic wound care.
The RedVac EMS Vacuum Splint Set includes three specialized splints (Ankle/Foot, Lower Limb, and Arm), a pump, and a convenient carry bag—ensuring your equipment is organized and ready when needed.
RedVac vacuum splints are medical devices to be used exclusively by trained healthcare professionals, in accordance with recognized medical guidelines and recommendations from relevant professional bodies.
Application Guidelines:
- Treat and cover open wounds with a sterile dressing before applying the splint, as per current aseptic procedures.
- Use appropriate equipment (e.g., shovel stretcher) to move the patient, following current recommendations.
- To apply the splint, secure the buckles and adjust the straps to fit.
- Attach the pump to the splint’s suction valve and remove the air until the splint is stable, then detach the pump and close the valve.
- Finally, check the straps for proper tightness and ensure the patient’s comfort.
